Electronic Services Specialist

Department: Accounting
Office: Corporate Office
Location: Foothill Ranch, CA

Overview: Responsible for assisting branches and other departments within the credit union by handling customer issues efficiently within assigned time frames daily. Responsible for loss prevention related to the credit union’s electronic services and check processing. Performs processing, journal entry preparation, and reconciliation functions pertaining to all check and electronic services transactions timely and accurately. This includes but may not be limited to ACH, ACH Origination, ATM/Debit Card disputes, Home Banking Bill Payments, Micro Deposits and Person to Person Transfers, Remote Deposit Capture performed via Mobile Banking, Check Deposits in Transit, Share Drafts, Corporate Checks (Cashier’s Checks, Accounts Payable Checks & Money Orders), Fed Savings Bonds, Shared Branch, ATM Deposits and Wire Transfers.

Job Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily review and processes related to but not limited to ACH, ACH Origination, ATM Deposits, Bill Pay, Bonds, Card Claims/Disputes, Domestic/Foreign Item Collections, Drafts, Expense Checks, In clearings, Mobile Deposits, Money Orders, Official Checks, Person to Person Transfers, Transit Items, Domestic/International Wires, etc.
  • Conduct investigations on questionable account activity, process fraud claims of moderate risk and complexity, and interact with staff, members, and other financial institutions and law enforcement as necessary.
  • Follows established ECCU policies and procedures and meets and adheres to audit standards.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Two to five years of related work experience, including Central Operations, Deposit Operations, and/or Branch Operations background.
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills, with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent math skills, including the ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret data.
  • Strong reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding and solve problems in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Symitar preferred.
  • No certifications or licenses are required.
  • This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

- Primarily indoor office work with a quiet to moderate noise level.
- Occasional travel to a branch.

Physical Demands:

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers or handles, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Salary Range: $25-27 an hour

Location: In-office, Foothill Ranch, CA 92610
